Quiet Forms: Observations at Museum Abbey
Set within the former Groeninge Abbey in Kortrijk, the museum was reimagined by Spanish architects Barozzi Veiga in collaboration with TAB Architects. Their design treats the site as a sequence of rooms — salons, chapels, gardens — linked by deliberate thresholds and subtle material shifts. The intervention balances heritage and clarity: new pavilions in recycled brick echo historic silhouettes, while subterranean galleries preserve the openness of the site. The result is an architecture of quiet confidence, where art, light, and space coexist without spectacle.
